As we celebrate the birth of our new baby boy Mateo Martinez, we are saddened by the lost of his brother Cristian. Â
Mateo was born 4lbs 15ounces and about 18.5 inches long. He is doing well in the NICU with a little bit of oxygen and maintaining his temperature. Â He has quite the head of hair and is a wonderful-gorgeous bundle of joy. He screamed quite loudly when born and has been giving the nurses very pouty lips whenever they seem to bother him :) He’ll stay in the NICU for some time until they are ready to release him.
Cristian was born deceased at 4lbs 5ounces and through unfortunate circumstance, had complications with what looks to be his umbilical cord and supply of blood and oxygen. He looked identical to his brother and was only slightly smaller. He is in our hearts and prayers and we ask that he be in yours as well.
Mom is doing ok after her emergency c-section. She is resting now and staying strong knowing we have a little one who is going to need all of our help to make sure he gets as healthy as possible these next few days and weeks.
Friends and family – we like to thank you all for your caring words and love received today. Norma and I are profoundly touched by your example and express our sincerest gratitude in our darkest but brightest of times.
