Family Visit for the Holidays

Hilda, Diego and Brianna came to visit us from LA. It was great having family around during the holiday season. Titi Hilda took super special care of Mateo and he loved every minute of it! D and Bri also had an opportunity to spend some time with their little cousin Mateo.

For the new years countdown, Jay, D and Bri were batteling it out on Wii Fit! Who knew getting fit could be so much fun? Bri won on the ski jump and D needed to ice his legs after a long run : ) Thank you for visiting! We miss you already.

Thanksgiving to all

There is so much to be thankful for this year that it would be hard to put into words. Thank you to all of our family and friends for your support and affection – as we celebrate our first holiday meal with our expanded family – you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Playing Hookie

This past weekend was gah-or-geous here in Seattle. Sitting at home was getting old real quick and we thought we’d get in the car and take a lil cruise up the coast. We decided to head to Deception Pass near the San Juan Islands in northwest Washington. Its about 2 hours from Seattle and an hour south of the Canadian border.

Needless to say that with the weather so good, it was jammed packed with everyone trying to take advantage of hi 70 degree temps. When you go through the balmy and cloudy winters here – every sunny warm day here is highly appreciated.

The bridge at the pass is very picturesque but man was it crowded. We snuck in some glamour shots in the middle of the span but we couldn’t go too far since Norma isn’t supposed to be walking all over the place and the cars and people don’t make good backgrounds.

Afterwards we cruised through the campground and scouted out some good spots for future camping. This was definately a family-friendly place we think we can bring the twins and dogs to and have a good time.

Now our driving excursion with twins doesn’t compare to Angiolina Jolie flying a plane with twins but it was fun and a whole lot safer nonetheless.

Paint Fence Daniel-san

Picking a baby room color is a lot harder than it seems like. Since we knew they were boys, I was looking for something in the ‘camouflage’ color scheme. Needless to say, Norma wasn’t too keen on that idea. So with that out the way, we thought something in the blue, greenish, maybe yellowish range would be nice.

Well we stumbled into a baby furniture store last weekend and saw a crib-set and matching wall painted and loved the color.. Restrained Gold. I swear there must be a guy that gets paid a whole lot of money to come up with names for colors – must be a tough job I tell ya.

With that out the way – off to Sherwin Williams we went to pick up a gallon of paint and while the queen of the nile sat in waiting (can’t smell paint fumes) – I went buck wild and taped, cut, and painted the room in 2 hours. I threw in some Wii Tennis in between my union break as well :) Now for the furniture to arrive next week!!

A Day at the Park

So Saturday was one of those days that reminded us why we fell in love with Seattle when we
first started visiting this place during the summer months. It was a nice comfortable 70 degrees with a gentle breeze and crystal clear day that gave a great view of Mt. Ranier in the skyline.

We decided to go to Petrovisky Park around the house which is great for the dogs since it has lots and lots of green space for them to run around to chase the ball. Poor lil Josie couldn’t run at all since she just had her ‘girlie’ surgery the weekend before. So she was not the happiest having to sit there watching her older sister run everywhere. They behaved but were still a handful as they get very excited seeing other people and dogs around. But they’re good puppies nonetheless.

We had a nice picnic with sandwiches we picked up from the grocery store and then decided to head home since the park was getting a little crowded. We’ll have to try to keep taking advantage of these nice weekends and getting the puppies back into shape. They go nuts whenever we visit the lake, so maybe we’lll do that next week. But for today, a few hours in
the afternoon and I thought it was fun but not too exhaustive – but as they anectdote goes ‘pictures say a thousand words…’

(no I did not let Norma sleep on the floor, I woke her up :)
