I love L.A…
With temps between 75 – 80 degrees, who wouldn’t! Mateo and mommy flew to So Cal to visit our family and friends for a couple of days. Mateo was super excited to get on a plane, although, I don’t know if he knew we were actually up in the air… all I can say, is thank you Buzz Lightyear! Toy Story saved us from a very long flight from Ohio to California.
Mateo enjoyed the weather playing with his cousin Diego and spending lots of time with Tia Hilda… and of course, eating lots of great food! We also had an opportunity to take Mateo to the beach for the first time.. we went to Hermosa Beach with Brianna and Mateo loved it! Mateo was a little unsure about the feel of the sand on his feet or the ocean waves crashing, but did not want to leave when it was time to go home. I’m sure he will be surfing these waters sometime in his future. By the time we flew home, Mateo and mommy were exhausted and missing daddy very much. We left LA at 80 degrees and arrived in Columbus at 12 degrees. Welcome home.

So Mateo’s first Halloween , he was Yoda. Last year was a cute little Lion outfit. Well, this year is DJ Lance Rock from YoGabbaGabba. Glasses and all :) We first did a Halloween costume parade at his daycare and Mateo got to walk around showcasing his outfit and having a blast with the other kids dressed up as Woody, Spider-man and little Cinderella’s as far as the eye could see.
On Halloween, we went trick or treating around the neighborhood blocks and picked up some good candy to eat. Even though it was a little cold, Mateo was undaunted once he got the hang that ringing doorbells = more treats, lol. We can’t wait till next year so we can pick more cute (mind you, embarrassing when he gets older) outfits!

First Father’s Day and we got to enjoy a fun day at the Center of Science and Industry in downtown Columbus. There was lots to do and see and Mateo had a blast touching and grabbing everything at the center. It was a little crowded but well worth to see the space, ocean, gadgets and egyptian sections of the museum.
Mateo got to play in the children’s section with all the water toys and contraptions. He made some friends with the toy blocks and the baby band-aid stations. Definitely a place we all would like to come back to and explore some more.

We haven’t seen so many cardboxes since, well – our last move :) We’ve been steadily unpacking since we moved and hopefully we get to the light at the end of the cardboard tunnel. The weather has taken a little bit to get used to here in the midwest. The first few days were above 90F degrees with as equal amount humidity. It felt like a wearing a hot-wet blanket all day.. Thank god for A/C in the house!
Mateo has been having fun learning to crawl all over the carpet. Mommy caught him getting into all kind of trouble crawling into boxes, under tables, going for cables and generally pulling all on the dog’s ears and tails. The dogs themselves had a great time at the sitter while we traveled and are enjoying playing in the huge backyard. The have yet to jump into the lake but I just know it’s coming sooner than later.
Mateo is going through his needy-stage right now and loves to be around his mommy 24/7. She spoils him something rotten but he’s learning to be independent and entertains himself with his toys and playmat. But once in a while he gives you the saddest face in the world when he wants his momma to pick him up :(

We are having twins!! Looks like we hit the jackpot and then some. We were just hoping to
hear good news about having a healthy baby and instant shock took over as the U/S doctor said “Congradulations are in order, you’re having twins”. I cried like a baby and Jay was speechless. So just when we thought we couldn’t be any more excited, we hit another level. There’s another ultrasound scheduled next week so we should know the sex then and cross our fingers they don’t find more babies in there :)
Here are the two lil’ ones:
